Partner, Litigation Practice
Cristina D. Hernandez is a trial lawyer who always keeps the big business picture in mind.
As the head of the Litigation Practice of The Long Law Group, PC, Cristina represents large and small corporations in all types of business disputes – internal investigations, securities matters, class actions, employment arbitrations, contract disputes and complex business disputes. She also acts as a trusted advisor for her clients on numerous business issues, working to stop litigation before it starts.
Cristina can advise her clients on business issues because she understands what it means to run a business. Since 2012, in addition to her successful law practice, Cristina has also worked as a Senior Consultant and VP with the Verna Myers Consulting Group, a leading boutique in the growing field of diversity and inclusion consultancy.
In her role as client advocate, Cristina draws upon over twenty years of complex litigation experience in large law firms, including acting as lead defense counsel in federal and state securities class actions, securities and antitrust investigations, and pre-and post-merger disputes.
She joined the The Long Law Group PC in 2016 because Toni and her team share the same vision of what it means to be a great lawyer – that a true advocate learns our clients’ business, gives advice that preserves and advances our clients’ business goals, and acts both zealously and ethically.
Cristina has practiced law throughout the nation, starting her career in Massachusetts after graduating from Harvard Law School. She then practiced in Wisconsin, and now calls California home.
Cristina has received numerous honors during her career. She was named the Latina Attorney of the Year by the Hispanic National Bar Association in 2009, and served as the President of the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association that same year. She was also named by the Chief Judge of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Wisconsin to serve on the U.S. Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for that District.
Cristina has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Securities Litigation and Commercial Litigation each year since 2012; Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star in Securities Litigation (2006-2009); United Way of Greater Milwaukee’s Philanthropic 5 Award (2009); and received the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award (2008). She also received the 2008 United States Postal Service award, “Women Putting Their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee,” where she was honored for her outstanding achievements in the field of government and law.
